I am good when it comes to DVD players and receivers, but I am new to the world of screens. I'm sorry if I sound out of touch. In case you don't know, I read Braille and use screen magnification equipment and screen readers. In a screen, I like high color accuracy, blacks that don't glow, and whites I can see on a bright sunny day with the curtains open. At the 37" TV thread I created, I learned that LCD screens are bright, but don't have deep blacks. Plazmas have deep blacks, but aren't as bright as LCD screens. I have a 10-year-old CRT in my livingroom I use with an RF modulator for TV viewing and DVD playback. I have an LCD HDTV in my computer room that serves many purposes. I notice that the CRT has deeper blacks than the LCD and is bright enough for daytime viewing. So I guess a CRT would be what I should consider for my next livingroom TV. Do any manufacturors still make CRTs with multiple HDMI inputs?

You'll really only find CRTs at places like Wal-mart, and they tend to be really really cheap... the best option is either a Sony 34xbr960 (widescreen) or a Sony 40xbr800 ("square" shape) on Craigslist. They'll give you much better image quality than any other technology, with the possible except of the Pioneer Kuro line (which is $5,000 and up). The 960 has a single HDMI port, but you can buy an HDMI switch from Monoprice or use a receiver that takes multiple HDMI ports and can act as a switch.

Not sure if they are still made in direct view tubes - there are some still available - new and used... search CRT HDTV at Amazon
