With the right HDTV is it possible to use seperate HDMI cables for audio and video? If so, would you have specify in your setup process that you are using 2 seperate HDMI's?

WallyWest 11-12-08, 08:31 PM +1... but no, it's not possible to separate out audio and video, since audio is embedded in the video stream... Receivers seem to manage it. You can get a splitter that takes one signal and outputs two. Accomplishes the same thing. I don't think any source components have two outputs like that. ccotenj 11-12-08, 09:21 PM yes, receivers do process an hdmi stream... however, if you'd like to point me to a receiver that puts out an "audio only" hdmi stream, you should feel free... or any other component, for that matter... unless i misread the original post, he wants a separate "audio" and "video" stream, and you will NEVER have an audio stream without a video stream for it to be embedded in... that video stream may be "blank", but it will be there... for example, the dvdo edge has an "audio only" hdmi output, but the reality is, the audio is embedded in an blank 720p video stream... again, it begs the question of "why" he wants to do this... |
