Looks as though the chief RPM-184 mount was the one of choice for the RS-2 will this mount work for the RS-20 as well? Jason, if you are out there what are you suggesting poeple use?

According to the Chief website, the RS20 will be using the RPA233

For those of us that already have a Chief RPA-series mount for their existing projectors (in my case, a RPA2131 for a venerable Sony HS20), is it possible to buy only the RS10/20-specific mounting plate, rather than the whole plate+RPA mount kit?

Also, since we're on the topic of Chief mounts, has anyone found a diagram that shows how far from the center of the mount the back of the projector goes? I might need to move my mount forward a bit to accommodate the length of the JVC, but cannot tell for sure - the instruction booklet I found online (for the HD350, which I'll assume for the moment is equal to the RS10/20 with respect to the external case) does not show locations of bolt-holes for a Chief plate or length from center of a typical ceiling mount, and I could guesstimate it at half the length of the RS20 - just trying to figure out of part of my out-of-box experience will involve drilling new holes in the ceiling or not.

I purchased the Chief Universal mount RPA-U with my RS1. I plan to use it with the RS20.

Then how do you mount your anamorphic lens ? :)

Do they make fold up mounts for projectors?

I'd like to mount it in a cabinet, but the cabinet is 12" deep x 4' tall. PJ is 18" deep. If I could fold it up, I could shut the door.

I'm re-using my (RS1) RPA Chief mount too. Mounting a Panamorph U480 on the newly released (for RS20) pro plate.

Is the RPA233 available for sale? I could not find any onilne stores selling it. Can someone give some metrics for determining the optimal height to mount the RS-20 with a Stewart ST130 screen, such as the angle between screen and projector? Thanks.

Mounting a Panamorph U480 on the newly released (for RS20) pro plate
Is this "pro plate" made by Chief or who, John ?
I'm not sure my current Cheif "A" lens mount/adaptor will slide far enough to put it in front of the RS20's lens.

^^^Plate is made by Panamorph. Pricey though.

I used the Premier(PBL-UMS) mount for my JVC DLA-HD100 and think it will work for my new JVC DLA-HD750.

I had planned to start with a shelf mount at the back of the room. It'll be about 7.5' high (just about at the level of the top of the screen) and ~19' from the screen.

Can anyone see a reason that I would need to have the projector inverted, or can it handle being near the top of the screen uninverted?

Same way. The Chief univeral mount just has arms instead of a base plate. However from all of the drawing I saw, the mount for the lens actually attaches to the same part of the RPU mount as it does with an RPA mount. The RPU mount has the same mounting holes on the part that attaches to the pipe. I don't have an anamorphic lens. My mount does have the same holes for the Panamorph on it however.

I have a Chief RPA universal mount for my G11. Jason mentioned only a new mounting plate would be needed for the RS20 - can't recall the part # - but AVS does have it.

This shows the range of lens shift here so it looks like you should have no problem with your shelf mount.

With the Chief universal I have, you move the adjustable arms and don't need a new mounting plate. You could replace the arms with a mounting plate if you wanted. http://www.chiefmfg.com/productdetail.aspx?ProductID=3998

Thanks Bulldogger, unfortunately mine is without the arms and I have the G11 mounting plate (from back in the days) which I will replace with the new RS20 plate. I am looking forward to the PJ - another week/10 days?
Cheers

I've got an RS-20 and am using the Chief RPA ceiling mount with the RS-20 plate. Does anyone know if Chief makes a wall mount that is compatable with the RPA ceiling mount? I'm considering moving the projector mount a few feet back and mounting it to a soffit with a wall mount to reduce movement when someone walks on the floor directly above. The soffit is built around a large horizontal I beam.

Yes look at the WMA300...they are ballpark $70 and are designed to work with the mount you have.

The 18" extension that offers even when added to whatever soffet may be present seems like the projector will be off to one side in strong fashion.

Thanks. I'm not certain exactly what you are saying above, but this particular soffit is in the rear of the theater, about 5 feet behind where the projector currently is mounted to the through the ceiling. I just have to figure out of the soffit is attached well enough to the I beam to brace it from the footfalls from above. I suppose I could try and mout the WMA300 directly to the I beam inside the soffit. Anyone have experience drilling into an I beam?

Are we talking about a soffet running perpendicular to the direction of the screen? For some reason I assumed (my bad) the soffet off to the left/right of the projector. :)

I sure hope so, because that's what I just bought. :) I checked the RS-20 thread, and many were using it successfully.
