Hey there - my office is looking for a projector for a new conference room. We're planning on a 119" 16x9 screen (likely Da-Lite, 1.5 gain or less).

I'm having a REALLY hard time finding a projector that will work in this environment though.

All I want is:
- 16x9
- HDMI input
- Bright enough so we don't have to turn off all the lights (3500+ lumens?)
- Preferably a native resolution of 1080p, but we can give on this one

What are the options? I'm finding a lot of 1024x768 options, but those sound like 4x3. I'm finding a few 1280x866 options, but none of them have HDMI, and a lot are from brands I've never heard about.

Anyone have advice here? We would like to spend less than $4K, but can spend a little more if it gets us most of what we want.

HELP! Thanks in advance!

Look for any projector that has DVI (with HDCP) and add a $10 HDMI -> DVI adaptor. The two standards are electronically compatible and there'll be no loss of quality.

If you don't need 1080p there are several dozen options starting from $1500, Projectorcentral's search facility (http://www.projectorcentral.com/projectors.cfm) will list them for you.

If you must have 1080p, there's literally just one option that fits all criteria: Optoma EP1080.

(There is also the Dell 7609WU but this is 16:10 so not ideal for your screen. I've just taken delivery of one of those - full review pending - it is incredibly bright).
