Friend has old Pioneer receiver VSX-D901S. Hadn't used in awhile. Now tuner appears fine, but no sound. Has 4 speakers connected and all connections look good, just no sound. Receiver locked on a station, equalizer is active, but no sound. Don't notice anything unusual on the control panel. I had a similiar unit and I remember that if you had Tape2 on it was a separate control from the others and would override the tuner and you'd get no sound from the turner unless you turned tape2 off. Her's does not seem to do that. Is there some obvious button not pushed, or whatever. Are there fuses that I should be checking? Unplugged and replugged to see if that would reset it - nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

So glad you posted this! I just bought an old receiver yesterday with a phono function so I could get my turntable up and running, as well as my cd player, etc. Got everything hooked up, and all the components sound great...EXCEPT the tuner! No sound when I flip to the tuner function! I've played around with the tape 1 and tape 2 functions as you mentioned, and it didn't make any difference, but I'll try again and make sure tape 2 is off. Please let me know if you ever resolved the problem. I love the receiver, but I'd really like to be able to hear my NPR news while I shave! Mark
