I have an Infocus X1 and have used a component to VGA cable to watch HD through the projector (projector is on computer mode). I have Charter cable.

I recently moved and can no longer get the projector to project through component to VGA. Before moving, I had a Scientific Atlanta HD box. Now I have a Motorola box. The new box has a Y, a PB, and a Pr connector, but when I connect the component to VGA cable the projector does not project an image. When I connect the cable box to the projector using an S Video cable, it does work (albeit not in HD).

There is nothing wrong with the VGA in the projector because I hooked my computer up to it, and it projected fine.

I don't think there is anything wrong with my component to VGA cable because it worked fine before I disconnected it at the old house, however that is possible.

Before I go out and buy a new cable, I'm just wondering if it could be the box. Do I need a specific type of cable box to project component to VGA?

Alternatively, can I buy an HDMI to VGA cable and show HD that way?

hmmm. the computer port can't receive a 480i image, so the only thing I can think is that your HDbox has its component output set to 480i?
My Motrola 6412 is connected to an X1 via computer port at 720p.

turn the power off to the pvr, then hit the menu button on the front.
you can use the arrow keys to get through the menus.

Same question, now with a DVD player. In the past, I have used an S Video cable to connect my DVD player to my X1. I would like to use my component to VGA cable instead. However, when I do so, I cannot get it to read the DVD.

I have a Panasonic DVD-RV32.

Here is a link to the operating instructions.

Is this a DVD that won't transmit to the computer port, or could it be something else?

Thanks

The X1 can only accept a non-progressive DVD player through the Svideo port using that funky component-svideo adaptor Infocus makes.
The computer port can only accept a progressive DVD players input.

So, if its a progressive DVD player, computer port. If its non-progressive, Svideo port.

Thanks...I plugged both a progressive scan and non-progressive scan DVD and couldn't get either to work. Not a biggie I guess, as I can just use an S-Video cable for DVD.

Last question, I hope. :-)

How about getting a Wii to work through the X1. Anything in particular that I should be aware of when setting it up?
