I own a rotel 1069 a/v processor that is HDMI 1.1 equipped and am attempting to purchase a blu ray player and connect it via HDMI to my Sanyo Z4 projector.

Problem, I have tried two Panasonic players the dmp-bd35 and 55 units, they only display pink and green colors via HDMI to the display.

Direct connection of the HDMI to the projector results in proper color. Other HDMI sources routed through the rotel are O.K. just the Panasonic players are affected. I have tried different cables with no success, as of yet.

The sony 350 player I also tried works fine. Is there anything I could suggest to either rotel or panasonic to correct this handshake problem?

One more problem while I am at it, when I am listening to a HDMI source component and turn on the projector, the source I am currently enjoying is lost. The rotel must be restarted andthe first input selected agian.

Sometimes the order of powering on the units can affect the handshake. Have you tried various sequences of that?

Obviously the Panasonic and Rotel are not properly talking to each other. You might check with Rotel and Panasonic to see if they have any firmware updates or work-arounds to the problem.
