I bought my first universal remote control a month ago when I got my new TV. It is the MX-900. There were some problems with the programming. They will either come back and fix it or replace it with the new 880. Does anybody have any opinions?

I love the 900 when it works but hate the screen on it. I find it dark and hard to read and the black and white unpleasant. At the price, I feel like I should be in love with it.
The 880 has color and icons - and I'm guessing I may like it better. But there's very little info and no reviews out there.

Anybody have any feedback? Thanks.

MX880 is a no-brainer.
The MX900 was a fantastic remote for it's time or if you prefer the layout.

Agree no brainer MX-880. This is a shot of a MX-900 next to a MX-810 "Same form factor as the MX-880"

the two remotes have the same function. the 880 has a power supply to recharge, nmhd battery and a color screen. they do the same thing. to get software and updates for the 880 and 900 you need to have a dealer number. you may be get them from remote central.
the new mx 5000 is two way wifi like the mx 6000. cool remote displays the ipod on the remote screen

BTW, the MX-880 and 900 have identical programming capabilities. You can even open an MX-900 file in the MX-880 software and download it directly to the MX-880. The only difference, other than the color graphics, is that the MX-880 has dedicated hard buttons for "Record" and "FAV (favorite channels).

The only thing I don't like about the MX-880 is a lack of a charging cradle.
