I have a Denon 3808 receiver, which has the Faroudja DCDi chip, and I also have a Mitsubish HC7000 which has the 'latest' Reon-VX HQV chip.
My sources are the PS3 over HDMI, and my cable box over HDMI.
From what Ive read, the Reon should be a better chip than the DCDi.
My question is, does that mean that I should just pass through the signal and have the receiver leave everything untouched? Will I actually notice a difference with the Reon?
Also, I notice that when I'm turning on a movie on the ps3, and its going between the main menu and the movie it is causing the signal to be dropped and restarted, which makes the projector react by flashing "No Signal" on and off. This sometimes also happens with the cable box when changing channels.
Is this a product of providing the scaling from the receiver and the feed from the cable box as HDMI?
Any suggestions/clarifications on how you are all running your setups would be appreciated. Thanks.
