My cable button functions stopped working and I can't figure out how to program this remote back to my sa 8300 hd. Comcast support is no help and I can't find anything online. It is able to program to my receiver and tv just fine but will not operate the cable box. Can ANYONE help????
Thanks in advance,
Ben

quick google search yielded this PDF manual. Is that all you need or is there more to your ques that I missed (sorry if I did)

Thanks, but this is the part that gets me, it says it is pre-programmed at the factory for the cable box. There has to be a way to re-program it to this, but I cannot seem to figure out how.

Perhaps the remote lost the programming for the cable box. Do this to reset the cable setup code to for the Scientific Atlanta box:
1. Press and release CABLE
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 1877 (or if the SELECT/OK button on your remote is red, type 01877)
The remote should blink twice to confirm.
If the remote blinks only once, that may mean that the programming for CABLE is locked. Try this:
1. Press and release CABLE
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 982
If the remote blinks four times, that means now it is unlocked. Repeat the first procedure to set the setup code. Then you can repeat the 982 steps again to lock it again, if you want (you don't have to). It will blink twice this time to indicate that it is now locked.

I just realized after doing this, the 'On Demand' button doesn't respond. Is there something I can do to fix this?
