On 11/12 my radio updated to the new channel lineup and played fine for a few hours. Then around at noon, when I was heading home, the Satellite mode displayed and "E", which I assume is for error. After a few minutes, the sat mode was no longer selectable on the radio; only AM and FM were.
I called Sirius CS and the lady I spoke with told me a similar thing happened a while back with Mercedes cars and that others were calling about it happening on this update with Mitsubishi cars. She told me that it came back the next day for the Mercedes owners, but no such luck here. Anyone have any suggestions or insight? :( I have an appointment with the dealership on Monday, but I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar problem or knows of the Mercedes problem that occurred.

Radaneo,
Not entirely helpful but you are not the only person experiencing this problem. I too have a Mitsubishi car and have the same issues with the Sirius radio in acquiring signal for the unit. First I called Sirius customer services and they told me there's nothing wrong with their equipment it's Mitsubishi's fault. Last week 11/13/08 I physically went to my Mitsubishi dealer and told them there's something wrong with the factory head unit. The service guys told me it is a problem on Sirius's end and not Mitsubishi's fault, they can reset it, let it re-update itself, and it would still crash/not work. They told me to wait it out a few more days before doing anything drastic.
Based on what Mitsubishi service guys told me, it does make sense that problem originated from Sirius's end due to the satellite channel updates since it was working fine before the update occurred. It's been a few days since I visited the Mitsubishi dealer and it still doesn't work. I hope you will have better luck than I did.

PS
If you do get your Mitsubishi head unit working again, could you tell me how you got it to work again? Thank you!

Sorry I haven't updated. We got it working again. All we did was simply unplug the car battery for 20 seconds or so then plugged it back in. I believe it was the positive terminal that we disconnected. Once everything was plugged back in and I started up the car, the sat mode came back on. Oddly enough, my dealership (in Houma, LA) called us back and told us of this method.
As far as the blame game, they originally tried doing the same thing. The dealership even once tried accusing that my Sirius account wasn't paid, even though the payment gets taken out automatically at the beginning of the month and this problem occurred at the middle of the month just HOURS after Sirius pushes an update.
Just re-boot your computer/Mitsubishi...

Yay! Thank you Radaneo this method works. :p

I did try resetting the head unit but it didn't help at the time, I guess the first update it did wasn't a perfectly working patch or whatever you want to call it.
All in all, I thank you both for your inputs and it was much appreciated!! :D
