I downloaded some custom favorite channel icons for my Harmony 1000 but now I am stumped as to where to save them to in the Harmony program so they will appear in the Favorite Channel Icon list.

I have them saved in a zip file and when I extract them they are all listed but I don't know where to save them to. I went through the locations in the program but still wasn't sure where to put them.

Anyone that can help?

I have not had the opportunity to mess with the custom icons yet but iirc the software allows you to browse to the individual icon files.

Update to my request.

I finally figured out that by entering the channel number it would pop up the the browse button letting you go in and choose the icons.

I now have all three Favorite screens filled (24 icons) with the color network logos, mostly HD channels. Very cool. I am liking this remote so far. Coming from my 880 it is a little bit of a learning curve but I really like the touch screen.

Where did you get your icons? I started playing with mine yesterday shortly after seeing your post and didnt get too far cause the icons looked terrible. I planned on spending some time today searching for the correct icons.

I'll attempt to walk you through this. I had no clue when I first tried this either.

First download the Icons and save them to a location on your computer that you can easily find like "My Documents".

Open the Harmony Remote Software.

Click on the "Activities" tab at the top and set up an activity like "Watch TV".

After setting up the Activity click on the "Settings" button.

Next click the "Set up Favorite Channels and Add Icons" button.

Go to the lower right hand corner and click "Next".

On the "Set Up Favorite Channels" screen enter a channel number in the blank box under "Channel".

After entering the channel number a "Select Image" button will appear.

Click the "Select Image" button and navigate to the location where you saved the Icons and select the Icon you want associated with the channel number you entered.

The Icon you selected will appear in the large box on the right and will be added to your remote screen when you update the remote. The Icons will be automatically resized to fit the Harmony 1000.

I hope I didn't miss a step. Let me know if you have a problem.

thanx randy for your help. I figured the icon installation late friday night. I wish there was a way to get rid of that parrot icon on the tv picture, is there a way? Any other cool things you would suggest for this thing?

Hi all. Just joined AVS last week and haven't participated in discussions yet. However, I bought a Harmony 1000 yesterday on impulse without completing my research on remotes. Can anyone vouch for or against the H1000 as compared to other Harmony remotes or other brands. I wanted to keep the cost of the remote to under $400. Thanks.
