Since there's no other thread for this, I'll just steal homcom's format and start one.

Game is up in 1080i and DD2.0. Scorebox is reminiscent of FSN with a small rectangle in the top corner. Good PQ on still shots, but there's a lot of smearing on motion, almost like an old tube camera, except in HD. Verizon FiOS, Dallas, TX.
Picture quality looks very nice. Have not noticed any smearing yet.

no smearing here, but long shots are a bit noisy...
decent color, decent grass... scorebug is reasonably placed and not too intrusive...
audio isn't bad with dplii applied...
halftime show looks REALLY nice...
fios, south jersey...
Overall, the only deficiency is the lack of 5.1.

I think the smearing is caused by the encoder Versus is using since the same thing is present on their NHL coverage. It's most noticeable on kickoffs when they pan across the field. The lines on the field have ghosts, almost like multipath on analog. On still shots, the PQ is as good or better than anything else, but ESPN and CBS still have cleaner motion IMO.
I almost forgot how fantastic minimal graphics football looks. This is why we have HDTV.
I noticed the motion smearing also. Would this be fixed by the new 120mHz capabilities of the new LCDs and the motion compensation mode of the new Panasonic 3000 projector?
