I'm trying to figure out if I need to replace my current HDMI connection. My set up is:

Projector - Panasonic PT-AE1000U
Blu Ray - Samsung BD-1200
Receiver - Onkyo TX-SR606
Digital Set Top Box - Samsung SMT-H3050

All my HDMI cables going into the Onkyo are v1.3 CL2, and the one running from my receiver to my projector is v1.1. Do I lose anything by not having v1.3 going to the projector? I know I won't get deep color since there is no blu ray media in deep color yet, but I wasn't sure if there is anything else that v1.3 allows for (I have heard something about resolving lip sync issues, which are a problem with 24 fps output on my samsung).

if you aren't getting any visual issues with your existing cable (i.e. sparklies, etc.), there's no reason to replace it...

as far as resolving lip-sync issues, that's part of the spec, but is unaffected by the actual cable itself...

In terms of features and protocols, there is no difference whatsoever between spec versions as far as cable is concerned. They're all wired identically. The only difference that's meaningful to the user is the new "Category 1/Category 2" distinction in 1.3 which tells you under what bandwidth requirement the cable was tested--and even there, the fact that a cable was tested under the older standard does not mean it will not work under higher-bandwidth conditions.
