I am wanting to buy a high def camcorder still trying to decide whether or not to go sony or canon but the big thing i want to be able to do is be able to set up a camera on a tripod that is able to be controlled remotely to pan and tilt another thing i want to be able to do is zoom in start and stop recording. I have only been able to find tripods that have the remote on the handle there is a chance that the camcorder may be over my head to get above the crowd which i then run into a problem. How am i gonna be able to see what i am recording. Is there a camera or an accsessory that i could have a small hand held lcd tv or whatever to view the camera.

your talking about a more advanced setup....you can use the remote to start/stop recording and zoom in and out but no pan or tilt function....

I dont know of any remote controlled tripods....but you are asking in the right place

Perhaps this with a Canon XH-A1:

You can get small LCD displays to view what you are shooting.

You will need something with LANC control for the "zoom in start and stop recording" which is disappearing from consumer camcorders.

There are other options.
