I have purchased a Canon HF10 and for the life of me cannot figure out how to burn a DVD that friends and family can play on a regular DVD player. At this time I am not interested in editing, I just want to burn the DVD. I am not real tech savy and would appreciate someones help on this. Thanks

I am interested in how this is done as well. I am planning to buy the HF11, HG20, or Sony SR11 in the very near future...

Thanks for starting this thread.

I have a Sony SR11 and I use the supplied software to burn DVDs. It gives you the option of burning AVCHD playable on most BR players, or regular DVDs playable on most all regular DVD players. Very easy to use.

Good Luck.

It should be just as easy, if you have a beefy computer. I successfully did it with sub-standard laptop (1.6MHz Celeron D) but it took a long time. If you can start ImageMixer and add clips into the library then chances are you can do it. Not sure how far you have got and what you have to say much here. I got the HF100.

the very simplest way to make sd dvds from an hd camera is to plug the rca outputs of the camera into a standalone dvd recorder... hit the record button on the dvd recorder, and the play button on the camera.
