I couldn't finalize my filled -R disc because the Finalize selection was grayed out. I tried backing out and retrying several times. Then I shut the unit down and restarted it. Same thing.

Lucky for me that I have two 3576's. I did get it finalized on my second set. I haven't yet tried to finalize another disc in the one that wouldn't finalize. It will be a few days before I get another full disc to finalize. I wonder what to expect when I do. Any idea of what caused such a strange problem? And, is there a solution if it happens again? Thanks!

The Finalize option won't be available if you have a timer rec program due to start within 1-hour... can't even be 59-minutes.

People who don't have multiple machines can either wait until after the timer program is done, or change the start time temporarily, Finalize the disc, then reset the timer start time.

I don't remember if something was programmed to start. I hope that was the problem. Thanks for such a quick reply :)
