I am seriously considering getting the new SVS PB12 Plus to replace my Mirage Omni S12. Currently the Mirage is sitting about 7" away from the right side of my Sony 57" CRT RPTV and I have never had any ill effects. Being the SVS will probably have a bigger magnet, does anyone think I may have an issue being that close to the TV now? Keep in mind, the CRTS in the TV are actually more in the middle of the TV then the right side. Also, I would think the magnet on the subwoofer would be parallel to the TV. I would hate to have any problems and I have no other location for the sub.
Thanks
Anyone have any experience with a closely placed sub like the PB12 near a CRT RPTV :D

My PB13 sits about 3' from my 73" Mits with no issue. These subs are shielded so there should be no issues. I have vintage Polk Monitor 12s that are not shielded and they are are about 6" on either sit of the Mits with issues.

Give SVS a call and ask if the new PB-12 Plus is magnetically shielded. If so, you should be fine. If not, ask them how much distance you would need. I think you will be fine.

My PB2+ has distorted the picture on my Sony RPTV if it's closer than 2' or so. This (http://www.wideopenwest.com/~onyschuk/hometheater.htm) is about as close as I put it without issues.

Yeah, I must have dreamed that because I can not find a statement anywhere that backs me up.
None the less, my 73" mits is not affected by my SVS or Vintage Polk Audios that are not shielded.
I will be picking up a pair of SDA 1Cs this weekend, hoping there are no issues with those and the mits
I have a VTF-3 MK3 on the way, and it is supposedly magnetically shielded from what I have read. Thanks for the responses.

Here's from Hsu owners guide for the Vtf guide . Dunno if the space is just for acoustics?
• Your subwoofer has magnetic shielding, but 3 feet of space is still required between the subwoofer and
a television or other CRT type monitors. Computer hard drives are not in danger of being erased
