You should check the media deals thread. Consensus: Taiyo Yuden, available only on line, are the best. Verbatim, available at B&M stores, like Office Max, and Best Buys, are generally considered the next best. However, some have reported problems with some Made In India Verbs lately, and prefer the made in Taiwan ones. Some, like me, have found Sony and Maxell to be reliable, but I mainly buy Verbs. Most will agree that Memorex are really memowrecks. As to -R, or +R, both have their partisans, but most would agree that you should use the ones that your DVDR favors with better functions, such as more FF speeds. tomwom 11-19-08, 07:38 AM Thank you. had1 11-19-08, 02:39 PM Take it from someone who uses 800-1000 disks a year, Taiyo Yuden is the best by far!! If you are using in a DVD recorder typically 8x speed is the best. Go to http://www.supermediastore.com Church AV Guy 11-19-08, 06:27 PM I have to agree. Taiyo-Yuden are as good as you cen get without going to very expensive hard to find brands. I also agree that the 8x disks make superior burn, and are preferred over the 16x disks. This is mostly because of disk wobble at the higher angular velocity. |
