I'm a total newbie and am thinking of getting the Canon HF100 camcorder. I have a few questions to those of you with more knowledge and experience with this camcorder:
1. Assuming I want to easily transfer my video from the flash memory card to a DVD via my PC computer's DVD burner, how do I do this so it doesn't take an extremely long time? (I've read about the transfer being very slow in some cases.)
2. If I transfer the highest resolution video from the flash card, can I burn it onto a regular blank DVD disc and get high resolution high def when I play back the DVD on my PS3 (BluRay) player and view it on an HDTV?
3. What if I wanted to burn a standard resolution DVD that I can play back on a standard DVD player........how do I do this?
4. How do I easily and quickly view my video directly from the camcorder to my HDTV? (My HDTV has component video and composite inputs easily accessible on the side of the TV.....the HDMI input is on the back and already being used.)
5. What other accessories beyond what comes with the camcorder would you recommend I get? Any better or additional software? Any other cables? Etc.?
6. What is a good value 8gb or 16gb memory card? What does card speed impact and what is the minimum I should consider?
7. My wife will also be using the camcorder and she wants things even simpler than I do. How easy is it to shoot videos? Are there many adjustments that need to be made or can the camcorder be set to a "standard" setting and left at this setting under all shooting conditions?
Sorry for all the simplistic questions, but we want to be sure we're getting a camcorder that will be easy to use.
Thanks,
wjr
