Most of the thread covering thoses are pretty old, we just got the 950 here in Canada.

Basically both are now the same price, the sammy has 5" extra.

My usage is:
70% HDTV 1080i tv series
15% Blu-ray,
10% SD TV.
Some PS3
Very little Sports (hockey)

My main concerns are:

A950:
1)Glare, the TV will be in my living room, there is a big 6 feets windows in that room, and that tv seem to have the same glossy as the 650, anyone with experience with one of these?

2)Viewing angle up to about 45degree.

Kuro:
1) Glare again... :(
2) Is it me or the Pioneer look kinda grayish, dull, not colorful?

Thanks :)

Pioneer handles glare better than the Samsung.

Gray? I dunno what you are seeing.

End result, Get whatever you want. Believe it or not, I am sure you already had an idea of which one you preferred before posting here.

Honestly I did not. But I am a bit affraid that Plasma wouldn't be a good choice for a fairly bright living room, but if it handle the sun better, then I might be wrong. By the way I meant grey, not gray... :)

I am sorry but what's the difference?, also what is different from the non-elite kuro to the elite kuro (except the calibration options)?

Thanks

I already replied in the other post. theirs differnces...

But i would still take a NON elite pioneer over the 950 just because its LCD technology with lcd flaws.

Sure plasma has flaws too but its not as apprent as lcd.

If you are purchasing from a location with a liberal return policy, I would say purchase the plasma, see how it goes in your enviornment. If it doesn't work, try the LCD. If you liked the plasma better, or vice-versa, then keep what you like.

If you're kind of guy who likes the 120hz AMP effect and ridiculous contrast and blown out colors, then stay away from plasmas, LCDs are better in that regard (since they can get much brighter). However, the Pioneer is more than capable of being calibrated to the industry standard and displaying an "accurate" picture, which isn't to everyone's liking if they're used to inaccurate "vivid" settings.

I am going to go see them again (950 vs Kuro 5020) the 5020 has a huge price advantage, but 5inch less... too bad they are not side by side.

I forgot to ask, does the Kuro suffer from input lag (for a PS3).

Thanks

The 5020 is on sale at Best Buy, Canada right now. Imo the 5 inches isn't worth $2000. If you have that much budgeted, you may as well get the 6020 for a bit more.
