View Full Version : 2GB transfer limit in TiVo Desktop program

I'm running TiVo Desktop, which lets you transfer TiVo recorded programs to your PC over an Ethernet connection. On one of my PCs, running XP Home, this works fine, even transferring complete 1 hour HD shows, that are 7GB. But on another machine, running XP Professional, the file transfer always stops at 2GB, with no useful error is reported. The problem seems to be some setting in XP. Does anyone know what this might be? By the way, this is not a FAT32 problem. Both systems report NTFS on all drives when you right click Properties for the drive in My Computer. Plus, I can copy the 7GB downloaded file from the PC where the transfer worked to the PC where it didn't work, and play the file fine.

I attached a screen image below of the error reported by the TiVo Desktop program. The error shown is for the last attempt. You can see two previous attempts in the screen image that stopped at exactly the same place: 2GB.

As far as I know XP itself didn't post an error anywhere. There's nothing in the Event Viewer.

Thanks for any ideas
