I have a chance to buy floor models focal 1037be for 6k.
What kind of deal is this?

Thanks for any help?

Considering they list for $11,995 I would say that $6,000 is a great deal. You would a have pair of great speakers IMHO, that you could keep for a very long time. I say go for it.
P.S I got the 1027 for a great deal and have never once regretted it :),

That is a lot of speaker for the money provided you like how they sound. They are certainly not for everyone.

Yea, it would be silly just to buy a speaker at a good price simply because it is a good price. If you like the way they sound then go for it. If not, then no deal you get will make them sound better.

I would also find out how long they have been floor models - even at high end A/V stores, floor demos tend to take a LOT of abuse.

Look for damage, signs of abuse, etc.

Depending on how long they've been floor models and their condition, 50% may only be a good starting point.

I think that is waaaay overgeneralized. Most "high-end" dealers such as the ones that typically sell Focal (outside of Tweeter) takes excellent care of their gear. They have invested their own hard-earned money into the product and thus strive to keep it as nice as possible.

Agreeing with others, you have to like it. If this is the case, go for it.

My 1027's were floor models. Now, granted the dealer I was dealing with was a very low volume guy, but I really had very little reservations about getting them.

If you like the way the Focal's sound go for it. I think they are incredibly good speakers. I bought a 7.1 Electra system in 2000. It was a floor model. I still have it. It still sounds impressive and works great. If I had the chance to do it again I would.

For me, in my room(small), the bass is pretty good. I came from 927's and the 1027's have way better bass then those did. But I do understand the want for more. That is where the 1037's come in. What amps did you listen to the 1027's with?

What Sonus Faber did you get. Just curious. I guess they "did" it for you?

I bought the SF Auditors, and now, I need subs.
Maybe REL. I need a sub to blend where you do not know its really there, for music. (or I might move my F113's and buy HT subs)
Their looks and sound of (strings), did it for me.

They are in a third room system, they Sound and Look great, when set up properly. Which took time, for personal perfection.

Upper-end REL, Audio Concepts (ACI) Titan/Maestro XL, Velodyne, and JL F112/F113 are all excellent subwoofers that have similar sound quality.

At $6K you can get a brand new Usher CP-8571 II (Be tweeters) that's one of the best sounding pair of speakers I've heard at any price.
