I have a complete Paradigm Reference system which includes Studio 100s v3, CC470, Studio20 v4 and Servo 15 sub. I want to mate another sub to this system, however the price of another Servo 15 new or the prices I have seen used are out of the budget. Is there a sub out ther for the right price that is comparable or compatable to this Paradigm Reference system ? All input is graciously appreciated.

There are two subs I would consider:
1. The Ascend Rythmik 15
2. The HSU ULS-15

What is the right price? Why do you need another sub?

The right price would be in the area of 800-1,000 dollars. I believe I need another sub because I am not satisfied with the mid bass nor is my room engulfed in bass during explosions at below reference sound levels. This is strictly a HT problem . I watch action movies and a lot of concert dvds.

If it's sheer output you desire on the cheap ($1k or less), ditch the servo idea and go for a big ported box. It'll be sure to offer much more of the "engulfed room" feeling in movies. That said, adding another 15" sub like the Rythmiks should add a good deal of output.

Tell us more about your room. Your sub is very competant and it may have something to do with how its setup.

I've tried matching subs and its a real pain. Even what is suppose to be identical subs if manufactured years apart will sometimes not match.

If you aren't already bumping up your sub by 5 dbs from your mains, try it first.

i don't believe subs should mate until they're at least 18...:D

it's ok if they co-locate.....

Thanks for all the replys. Instead of purchasing a new sub I went with acoustic room treatments and a great set of heavy curtains in front of my windows. It actually sounds like Im in a different room. Wow I had no idea! This problem is now no more and I saved a load of money that Im sure to spend soon.
