I am using a Lutron SP-600 lighting dimmer system and get a nasty buzz in my audio any time the lights are, either full or dimmed. Lutron wants to sell me a Lamp Debuzzing Coil for about $150. Does anyone have a less expensive solution? My lights are on a separate breaker than the audio equipment.
Thanks,
Andre'

Read app note # 3 - Lamp Buzz
It could also be your brand of bulbs or too high of a wattage
Could it be that your speaker wire is too close (possibly even touching) your romex for your lights? That could be a cause of interference...

I know I can hear a buzz from light in other rooms I have dimmers, but when watching a movie, will it be all that loud with the volume up that it will interfere with the show? I dont know, I am just asking, because if I am not sitting in dead silence and listening for it, I dont think I notice it.

i'd be interested in hearing your solution. if it's a case of wires or lights too close to speakers, maybe some stillpoints in between the two could fix the problem. i just installed some really cheap speakers to act as 6th and 7th channel in my HT and they are really close (less than 5 inches) to lights and romex on a dimmable circuit. i haven't powered it all up yet so not sure if i'll have buzz or not. the other 5 speakers and subs are not close at all to the romex or lights.

Some people say dimmers can add noise to the AC circuit they are tied in to. Personally I haven't experienced this. But when I built out my dedicated room, I was sure to keep the dimmers for my lights in the room totally separate from the 3 dedicated circuits power my equipment.
As a point of reference, I'm also running Lutron dimmers. I have the Spacer System in my dedicated room, a Spacer System in my master bedroom, and a single unit Spacer in the family room. In the master bedroom, I haven't detected any noise issues from the small A/V system I have in there. Nor have I had any issues with the single Spacer in the family room with my 2 channel system.
You may want to check to see if the wiring for the circuit is correct. Could be a bad ground/neutral.
