dcowboy7 11-19-08, 08:10 PM would think everyone should know but it doesnt say sunday:
Indianapolis at San Diego 8:15 PM NBC
========================================
also possible blackouts:
TB/Det (almost definite)
Buf/KC
Min/Jax
Ind/SD....socal fans are the most diehard fans in the world.

Only games not being played on Sunday have the day listed. Sunday is assumed unless otherwise noted.

NY Giants at Arizona 4:15 PM FOX (715-1) (Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa)
buck & co. not doing national 4:15 because they are basically staying in dallas thru the cowboys thanksgiving game as well.

Less about Buck staying put, more about not having a crew and fleet of production trucks go from Green Bay to Glendale to Dallas in 11 days.
ccotenj 11-19-08, 08:59 PM can someone who is not color-blind (like me :o ) tell me what game we are getting on cbs in the philly area?
dcowboy7 11-19-08, 09:23 PM can someone who is not color-blind (like me :o ) tell me what game we are getting on cbs in the philly area?
Oak/Den KYW Philadelphia PA
Phi/Bal WTXF Philadelphia PA
ccotenj 11-19-08, 09:30 PM  can't be... phi/bal is a fox game... and we should be getting a 1pm cbs game since iggles are on road and fox has doubleheader?
what am i missing here?

Oakland vs. Denver is the CBS game for Philly.

even if your team is on the road on the DH network, you will normally get the 'opposite time' game on the singleheader network.
so you have the only 4pm game on cbs this week (just like every other market with a team playing a 1pm fox game... home or away)
mikepier 11-19-08, 09:53 PM I've never seen the TBA area shaded for the NYC area before. But its a painful choice to try to decide what to watch for the 1 pm Fox games. I guess it would be PHI/BAL.
But besides that game we get NYJ/TEN and NYG/ARI.
mikepier 11-19-08, 09:56 PM also possible blackouts:
Min/Jax
That would surprise me. At 4-6, the Jags are not out of it, even though their only hope is a wildcard spot.

ill say sf/dal.
TravelFan1 11-20-08, 08:53 AM my $$$ is on Phi at Bal for NYC area. Actually, Joe Buck calling SF at Dal makes no sense, other than the logistic one.
mikepier 11-20-08, 09:28 AM Who actually decides what game is to be shown in those areas?
Who actually decides what game is to be shown in those areas?
The network.
Who actually decides what game is to be shown in those areas?
Often the network will let the affiliates decide (and a few affiliates that are nowhere near any team even have a weekly vote online)- but the network itself gets to make the final call.
dcowboy7 11-20-08, 11:36 AM Less about Buck staying put, more about not having a crew and fleet of production trucks go from Green Bay to Glendale to Dallas in 11 days.
nance & simms & co. are doing pittsburgh to nashville to detroit in 11 days.
nance & simms & co. are doing pittsburgh to nashville to detroit in 11 days.
PIT to NSH to DET is almost 2,000 miles shorter of a trip then GB to PHX to DAL. Thats alot of diesel fuel.
Less about Buck staying put, more about not having a crew and fleet of production trucks go from Green Bay to Glendale to Dallas in 11 days.nance & simms & co. are doing pittsburgh to nashville to detroit in 11 days. Full Mapquest numbers:
Green Bay to Glendale: 1879 miles, Glendale to Irving: 1071 miles
Pittsburgh to Nashville: 563 miles, Nashville to Detroit: 538 miles
Those treks would be completely different beasts. Each of the CBS ones can be driven in 8-10 hours, which are reasonable. The FOX ones would have been substantially longer (especially with semi-truck driver resting requirements).
nance & simms & co. are doing pittsburgh to nashville to detroit in 11 days.
Also CBS does not have the option of doing back to back games in Detroit.

Lions didnt sell out....blacked out in detroit.
KC & Jax are sold out.
SD most likely will be sold out too.
mikepier 11-20-08, 03:16 PM I guess we are going to be kept in suspense here in NYC about which game will be on. The rest of NY and NE will see PHI/BAL. Maybe they'll show us TB/DET as a cruel joke.
humdinger70 11-20-08, 05:00 PM nance & simms & co. are doing pittsburgh to nashville to detroit in 11 days.
By the way, it's N-A-N-T-Z, not N-A-N-C-E. Jim Nance was a running back for the Broncos back in the 60s or 70s.
humdinger70 11-20-08, 05:10 PM I'm hoping we (in San Diego) get Jets/Titans (based on what the map says for CBS). So far the program guide on TWC San Diego for CBS on Sunday has Raiders/Broncos listed.
The programming people at KFMB have sometimes been a bunch of idiots in deciding to show an AFC West divisional match up between two bad teams over a more interesting match up that most of us would rather watch.
On top of that, this is one of those SNF weeks for the Chargers who, despite being mediocre this year, over the last few games between the two teams, give P. Manning and the Colts fits.
mikepier 11-21-08, 06:41 AM Lions didnt sell out....blacked out in detroit.
Hopefully the NFL will do us a favor and blackout the Thanksgiving game across the country.

Not gonna happen. Detroit yes, the rest of us have to suffer!! :p:D

Map today is all green in NYC metro, thankfully.

Damn, I'm in the 75 mile radius and will get blacked out. Might have to try and raise my antenna up a bit higher to get the Grand Rapids station in HD.

And the nimnuls at KFMB have struck again!:eek::eek:
Jets/Titans replaced with Raiders/Broncos. According to the updated map, San Diego is the only place in Arizona and southern California (south of Bakersfield) NOT getting, potentially, one of the best games of the year.
Please... Raiders stink, Chiefs stink, Chargers mediocre, Broncos not much better. Seems no one really cares anymore...:mad::mad:

Boy that really sucks. Why did they change it and what's the connection with OAK/DEN?

San Diego is in the same division (AFC West) as Oakland (Raiders), Kansas City (Chiefs) and Denver (Broncos).
So a divisional game has more local importance than the interdivisional game (Jets/Titans) I hoped would be shown locally (for purposes of who makes the playoffs or not).
FYI, Jay Posner, sports media columnist of the San Diego Union-Tribune has confirmed this.

why didnt they just schedule that game in the 1st place ?
mikepier 11-22-08, 09:43 AM why didnt they just schedule that game in the 1st place ?
I thought they did, because I do not see any updates on the CBS map for the San Diego stations.
humdinger70 11-22-08, 10:26 AM I thought they did, because I do not see any updates on the CBS map for the San Diego stations.
Apparently they did because all sources that I've seen (including newspapers locally) have channel 8 showing Raiders/Broncos at 1:00 PM PST.
Apparently the initial map here was wrong (raising false hopes of actually seeing a good game). Yes, I know, game broadcast info on the site is "subject to change".
GioGambino 11-23-08, 11:41 AM Is it possible that this map is wrong? I have Dish Network in San Diego and my guide shows the Eagles - Ravens game for the 1pm Eastern game.
I am a Cowboys fan and it looks like that game is supposed to be on here, but my guide says otherwise. It's funny because on every local website that shows TV listings, it says the Cowboys game will be on. My guide shows otherwise. Can anybody shed some light?

Yes it is possible for the map to be wrong, just as it is possible for the Dish guide to be wrong. The Dallas game looks like it will be your game.

Looks like the management at the San Diego Fox station (KSWB) decided to switch, at the last minute, to the Eagles/Ravens game. You'd have to ask the KSWB twits, er..., management, why they made the change.
Up and down week for Syracuse - they beat Notre Dame on Saturday, and Donovan McNabb (star QB for SU in the 90s) looks pathetic on Sunday.
dcowboy7 11-25-08, 05:17 PM week 13 maps are up.
