I'm running a 5 channel surround sound setup right now. Looking to add a sub into the equation.

I have 2 standing Polk R50's, and 2 Polk R150's as well. I forget the exact model of the center channel, to be quite honest right now... it's another Polk though. I want to say it's the CSR (is that the matching series for the center? I forget)

Point is I'm looking for a sub in the same sort of range quality-wise. Is the Polk PSW10 about the same qualitywise?

What are the guidelines for subwoofer size in a room? I don't know if I need a bigger sub than the PSW10 or not. I'll take room measurements in a bit (not home right now) but I was just wondering what everyone thought about that...

Room Measurements, sub size (big box, small box) and budget would be needed to get some good suggestions.

I think most would say you should shoot for a bigger sub then 10" depending on the budget.

Don't get the polk sub....Look at internet direct brands such as eD, HSU, SVS, AV123, Epik depending on your price and how big your room is

Room is maybe...12x15? I thought I had a tape measure around here somewhere but I can't seem to find it...

Do you have any specific manufacturers in mind that have better bang for your buck? I had assumed Polk's woofer would be closest matched to the 5 Polk speakers I have but if not I definitely want to get a good quality woofer.

Other issue would be aesthetics, as well. Though secondary, it'd be nice if they vaguely resembled the wooden look of the Polk speakers I have.

Any suggestions would help. Don't really want to spend much (if any) over $200, but I could if I got a shining recommendation...

The BIC-100 gets the highest recommendations at that price range but I think its just over 200 (not for sure) At a little over 300 the eD A2-300 is a pretty big step up from anything under it I believe.
