Hi. I am building a new home theater setup (which I am quite excited about). The following components have either arrived or are on the way that use HDMI.

Pioneer Elite Kuro 60" 141fd
Pioneer Elite SC05 Receiver
Pioneer Elite BD05 Bluray Player

XBox 360
PS3

I bought the following HDMI wall plates and cables:

They say they are 1.3 certified, but do I need 1.3a as all the pioneer stuff say 1.3a on them? Will I lose out on any bleeding technology they have by not having 1.3a?

Also, will it make a difference if it takes 3 cables to get HDMI from my receiver to the Monitor? (one to the wall, one in the wall, one from the wall to the Kuro). Would I have been better off not doing the wall plates and running 1 cable directly??

Thanks for any help. This is way confusing!!!!

The 1.3 versus 1.3a is not a factor. All HDMI cables and plugs have identical connections. The only difference is that 1.3a category 2 cables are certified for a higher frequency operation. But that doesn't mean that older cables will not operate properly at those frequencies.

Having extra HDMI connections should not be of concern unless you are making long runs (more than about 20' total).

Yes. Especially with HDMI which is a clusterf**k. Run as directly as possible.
