Sorry for the late start to the thread.
This is the "big hair" bowl. Nice picture/sound on D*.
ccotenj 11-20-08, 08:45 PM s'ok, i was waiting patiently... ;)
pq... nice... only real "bad" thing is the oranges are a bit noisy on longer shots, and some pixelation on the graphics when they cut in from a replay... nice color other than that... closeups really sharp... lack of constant graphics eating up the screen is something other nets could learn from...
aq... oh well... as said before, thank goodness for dplii processing... and fwiw, i like papa and collingsworth, they work well together...
fios, south jersey...
MixItUp 11-20-08, 08:53 PM I think NFL Net is better this year. Announce team is better and it sounds good tonight
Splicer010 11-20-08, 08:58 PM Watching this on OTA here in Cinci...WOW!!! This actually one of the best looking games I have seen this year!!! Audio is center channel heavy...Nothing to write home about like the picture is...
WLWT-DT
OTA
LG LST-3510a Tuner
DIY roof mounted antenna
Toshiba 51" CRT HD RPTV
MixItUp 11-20-08, 09:06 PM unfortunatley they are still stereo only.
Splicer010 11-20-08, 09:25 PM 5.1 here...One nice thing is the sub is alive when they have the music going when coming in and going out to break... :D
Audio678 11-20-08, 09:47 PM Go Steelers
PQ is just ok. The main game cameras seem a bit grainy and I'm seeing some blocking with movement. Quite a few long close ups out of focus, trying to hunt for focus while on air.
mikepier 11-20-08, 10:27 PM I know this doesn't count, but since my cable provider does not carry NFL Net, I'm watching the game on NFL.com. It's better than nothing.
primetimeguy 11-20-08, 10:58 PM 5.1 here...One nice thing is the sub is alive when they have the music going when coming in and going out to break... :D
Either your provider or your receiver is making it appear to be 5.1 because the source is not.
As for PQ, I don't think it is that great. Seeing blocking too. Average. Via E*.
totalownership 11-21-08, 12:08 AM Comcast Essex county cable system:
Very good PQ. I came in around a little bit before the end of the first half. Great pq too me. Sound was decent also. My reciever was showing surround also but I really didn't pay attention to what I was getting.
wrwine3 11-21-08, 09:56 AM Was the game aired locally in Pittsburgh. I have friends that lives there and they said they couldn't find the station broadcasting it. They don't have NFL Network.

Yes it was on WPCW, as the first post says.
coyoteaz 11-21-08, 03:19 PM IIRC, WPCW has no OTA digital broadcast, so if your friends are not using Comcast or FiOS, they would have been stuck with the analog broadcast.
Larry Hutchinson 11-21-08, 04:16 PM Annoying green line on right-hand edge of screen when TV set for no over-scan.
D* via HR21 & HDMI to 1080P plasma.
Come on folks, all the pixels are meant to be seen. This is 2008 -- not 1948.
