Like anything, it depends on the set.

I would say, in general, yes. LCDs show the faults in any kind of picture you put to it more than a plasma would. I can't speak for all LCDs... but my 32" and my dads 42" doesn't show as good SD content as the 50" plasma we got.

I have seen SD on the best LCD TVs at various friends' and associates' houses and i can never ever get it to look as good as it does on my 1+ year old Plasma or even my 3+ year old Plasma. But i will say that as the quality of the SD source gets better, the difference in picture quality between the two gets smaller. To my eyes, Plasma looks better than LCD on ALL content, with exception of maybe some cartoons.

But in the meantime, I will say that some brands just do a better job with SD content than others. And yes, plasma over LCD any day of the week for SD content....the larger the screen size, the worse SD content will look on an LCD. Similar to the way LCDs display motion blur- they just enhance flaws in certain pictures.
