Now it went bad again but different problem. The recorder went bad doesn't work no more. All my programs in the hard drive is lost too.

Are these 622 not so reliable? Vented to customer service but kept telling me these are top notch receivers. Then why 4 boxes failed in a six month period??!!! Really frustrating...

The 622/722 are some of the best STBs available. Not only is the software very highly regarded (see CNET reviews), but they are engineered to be very resilient in dirty power situations. Unless you are keeping in an unventilated cabinet, you should not be seeing this failure rate. I have a 722 and a 622, and have had no problems other than 2 specific OTA recording bug which has a workaround. You might ask Dish to have your entire setup checked out as the problem could be at the switch, the power inserter, or possibly the dish itself.
