Sony showed a playable demo of Gran Turismo running on the Playstation 3 on a 19 inch FED Display (Field Emissions Display), with a stunning frame rate of 240fps.

FED's prowess is based on methods very similar to the cathode ray tubes (CRT) used in old TV sets.

Looks awesome, but where is this monitor being demonstrated. None of the articles appear to list where this demo took place. :confused: One news listing http://www.oled-display.info/sony-shows-gran-turismo-on-a-19-inch-fed-display-with-240-fps has a youtube link to a video made back in 2007... though it does have some dialog that would make Kuro fan boys all hot and bothered! :p

I thought there was an article that said they didn't have the funds to acquire Pioneer's old plant. Maybe that was just for commercial television production?
