The bornrich.org website has some interesting home theater articles but some might like this one. Just search "home theater"

With the exception of rooms # 1 and # 3 ... the rest look like they were designed by Bobby Trendy (http://www.lasplash.com/uploads/1/hollywood-covered-3.jpg)...

What's up with the themes going on????

OMG. Somebody actually made a real bat cave out of their home theater. That is funny. Very nice theaters. I like the Pirates theme myself.

I like #8....

What's cool about this is that I'm currently looking for new design ideas. I sold my house a couple of months ago; the new owners asked me to leave the theater in place, so now I get to build another one in the new house, and get new gear!

Now I get to use everything I learned from the last HT (i.e., I won't make the same mistakes this time....).

Gotta agree with Tryg - #3 makes no sense. That much money in equipment, and zero attempt at light control?

All are pretty neat minus 3 and 1. Pretty cool

The Golmund Theatre is the ONLY one that appeals to me. It's by far the most classy of the lot in my opinion. I guess it boils down to taste. I couldn't stand one of those gaudy and huge set ups. For me the best movie experience is one that is intimate. Where you feel connected with the screen and feel part of the experience, not like watching from an ivory tower :)

Wonder what kind of a set up Steve Jobs or Bill Gates would have?

That's not even a home theater...it's just a living room with a flat panel or two.

Wow I can think of a lot more options that that from over the years. The one has a 4:3 RPTV! :)

What you're missing is that the Goldmund theater is dated 1948. Before color tv or flat panels. That's why it costs a million :)

I cant even make a good joke about this pathetic expenditure.:(

I think its funny that you could take one $5-10K component (or cable) out of any one of these home theaters, sell it, and have Jason set you up with a nice pj, screen, surround sound and universal remote for lighting control...and probably still have some change left over. A fool and his money...
