Hello

I'm at my in-laws with no Internet except my iPhone so your help is needed as my research ability is greatly reduced.

They want me to help them find a 42ish" flat screen tv. They have a budget of 700 to maybe 1k. No worries about glare. Mostly broadcast tv via fios.

Walmart seems to have a vizio 42" HDTV that might work, but I don't know if it is any good or if something else might work better.

Any and all help you can give will be very helpful since I can't do any real indepth research myself.

If you are looking at Vizio I would look at the Vizio 42 XVT that would fit in your price range, there are sold at Sear's Circuit City, and the Wholesale Club stores

At the upper end of their budget there are three nice 1080p Pannys - the TH-42PZ80U and the Costco Version TH-C42FD18, and for a little more there's the TH-42PZ85U.

Panasonic makes the most reliable TVs and they give about the best bang for the buck.

Thanks for the quick responce. We went with the pz80u from sears. Was a great deal from what I could find. I'll be setting it up later today.

Thanks again, your advise was extreamly helpful.
