Greetings! What a great forum for expert info.

I want to pick up a Plasma primarily as a monitor for various laptops so we need a VGA input. THis means we can't use the pZ80 series, and need the PZ85.

Found what may be a great deal on the PZ85 in 42". Would love the 46" but the price delta is too much.

Anyways, a question:

Other than size, does the PZ85 in 42" and 46" look the same in terms of every factor that matters to Plasma screens?

Or is there compelling reason other than size to consider the 46" over the 42"?

Grateful thanks in advance for any help.

If I was you I'd take a look at the Costco 50" Panasonic C50FD18 for $1,399.99 with FREE Delivery because it's the same as the Panny PZ80 except it has an added PC Input on it. Costco also has it in the 42" size for $899.99 & both models come with Costco's 90 day no questions asked return policy & Costco also throws in an extra 1 year warranty.

Now I don't know much about PC Input's but if I remember right the Panny doesn't show the Full Resolution using the PC Input but it does if you use a DVI to HDMI Adapter connected to one of the Rear HDMI Inputs which could also be used on the "Regular" PZ80 model.

I would try a seperate post asking which is the best brand & model to use with a computer.

Thanks. That's a GREAT suggestion as Costco has extra year warranty. However, it's also based on the PZ80 rather than PZ85 screen. Slight difference i'm told but that's not sure. Also, can get the PZ85 for about $800 all done including shipping/tax so costco is going to run me about $250 more for that 42" - hard to justify....

I WISH that PC input would be full 1080P Thanks for catching that.
