Of a DVD Recorder or Recorder/Player that has the following:
-analogue RCE output of 5.1 Surround
-a tuner input that takes an RF cable
This is all that I really need it to have. I know, its a ridiculous request, but my client needs a recorder that DOES NOT have HDMI output for 5.1 (MUST be analogue).
I am located in Toronto, Canada if that helps. It seems that the few models that I have hunted down from the likes of Coby and Cambridge Audio are either no longer being manufactured or are not sold in my country.
ANY help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance

Discrete analog surround outputs on consumer DVD decks are long gone. Your client is probably going to have to settle for the addition of a digital-to-analog breakout box or the use of an intermediary amp or receiver with such circuitry. You might be able to find the feature on a used player somewhere, but the life expectancy and serviceability would be questionable. If the client has an expansive budget, you could look into some of the esoteric professional/industrial suppliers of custom or modified DVD/AV units: analog surround outputs may be available as an add-on card for one of these (prices range from $1500-4000). Customizing a home-theatre PC to offer the desired features is another possibility, although that puts you at the mercy of Windows and wouldn't look pretty in a luxury installation.

The only DVD recorder that I know of that has discrete analog 5.1 audio output is the Panasonic DMR-E500 DVD recorder that I have. The E-500 has an RF input that works with cable, but it is an analog-only tuner, and will not pick up digital channels. The E-500 also has a 400 GB hard disk drive and TV Guide On Screen. But, as Citibear said, these units are long gone. The E-500 was a 2004 year model.
It might be possible to find one somewhere if cost is not an obstacle, but its longevity might be an issue.
Good luck on your search.
Last years Sony BR players (I think 300 something) have discrete outputs for 5.1 and I have seen those as low as $230 at Sams/Costco since the newer 350 model came out(which lacks those outputs). Otherwise I know of no recorders with those outputs.

It would help to post succinct titles instead of teasers - you'll likely get more responses from members. Some don't bother looking at the questions.
