Ok I am very new to this whole IR and home theater lighting automation setup so bare with me as I try to explain what I want to do.



Right now they are finishing up my new house, well it's about 3 weeks out from being completed and I installed my home theater myself with lighting, sound, etc and I thought since I'm getting the Harmony 1000 i wanted to try and automate some processes.



So here is what i want to do. I want to use the Lutron SPS-5WC to control three other switches to dim or turn off the lights through out the whole room when I hit the play button or any other series of buttons on the Harmony 1000 remote. To do that is this all I have to do-

1) Take out existing lighting switches

2) Buy the Lutron SPS-5WC along with 2 other switches

3) Put the main SPS-5WC right next to the other two switches and wire them in

4) Setup the SPS-5WC in the Logitech remote and set it to run when I program in the key sequence

5) The lights will now dim or turn off after that is all setup?


For the dimmers which model should I get? something like the SPSLV-600M?

Also does it matter if their are two places in the same room that control the switches that im hooking up? Meaning in two parts of the room are 3 switches that control the same over head lights. Can I just replace them in one part of the room and be done with it or do they need to be changed out also?



I know it kind of sounds confusing I just need some opinions on what I need to buy in order to make the small amount of automation I want to do.
