LG Plasma 50PC1DR still under warranty. Recently picture dropped out but audio was continuous then video returns after a few seconds and the component 1 label appears as video returns. This happens both with cable signal and with Blue Ray Player sometimes every 35 minutes or so. I think it is the component input in the Plasma TV. I changed wires to component 2 and it seems to be functioning without the dropout although I didn't experience this until recently and I have had the set two months short of two years. Does this make sense? Do component 1 and 2 function independently such that one might be okay and the other malfunctioning? Should I have LG pay a service call while still under warranty?

Both inputs would function independently and maybe by removing the cable and reconnecting to the other input you got a better connection. I would try reconnecting back to input 1 and see what happens and maybe even try a different set of cables. If it still persists then definitely get it looked at under warranty.
