I'm wondering about putting a DVD player on the bottom shelf of our TV stand, which is only a couple of inches off the floor. Would it pick up a whole lot of dust from the carpeting there, some of which would make it into the DVD tray and eventually foul up the works?
I'm wondering because if we get a center channel speaker that matches the fronts, the speaker will take up almost the entire middle shelf of the TV stand, and I'll have to move the DVD player to the bottom. It's a Sony DVP-NS700H/B in case anyone's wondering.
My other option would be to get a much smaller center channel speaker that might not be perfectly timbre matched, but could go on the top shelf in front of the TV. Can't really put the DVD player up there, it wouldn't fit next to the TV.
