this is the 49.99 Target Black Friday special, I have it and have a question for any other owners, the headphone output on mine is very noisy and has an annoying hum and buzz, I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this as well. If it's just my unit, obviously I'll get it replaced.
It has very good pq and is definitely worth 50 bucks.

I purchased the same unit today and I have the same issue. I fixed the problem by using headphones equipped with volume adjustment. By turning the volume lower on my headphones, and raising the volume on the dvd player, I was able to completely eliminate the buzz. Try different headphones. My earbuds generated the worst hum/buzz, but another pair of regular size headphones were noticeably quieter. The headphones with volume adjustment wiped out the problem entirely.
Based on past experience with portable dvd players, sound from the headphone jack leaves a lot to be desired, especially on cheaper units. For the price of $49, I can't complain. The picture quality is indeed excellent.

thanks, I'll try different headphones. :) gotta wonder how long those pushbuttons will last, they seem somewhat sturdy though.

I'm bumping this up because my wife phoned from her mother's house and told me that the Black Friday DRC6327E we gave my son for Christmas stopped recognizing discs yesterday. The manual tells me that the lens might need to be cleaned, either due to condensation or just plain dirt.
Do people find that dirty lenses are usually the culprit in these situations, or is it usually something major?
I'm just trying to figure out how much to worry before they get home from the trip and I get to take a look at it.
UPDATE: I looked. I cleaned. It got no better. Luckily, Target was able to exchange it on New Year's Day. Now I'll see how long this one works.

on the one hand this player has very good image quality (although skin tones are too yellowish) but you can sort of tell with this unit that it won't last long at all, I'm going to return mine for a refund before the 3 months are up.
