I have a Panasonic 42" plasma with remote and I'd like to be able to control my Xbox with the Panny remote. Does anyone know what the 360's remote codes are? I have the 360 media remote that controls my Panny, but I prefer the Panny remote. Any help?

Does the Panny remote know the codes for Windows Media Center Remotes?
If so, you're home free.
(The 360 is compatible with the MCE codes and those have been around forever.)

Otherwise...
Do you know what to do with these?

chances are if the remote is code-based and not learning, you're probably SOL.

I believe one of the RCA DVD Player codes will work. You might have to try a few though. On second thought, maybe that was for the original XBOX and not the 360. I can't remember.

Alternatively, just go get a Harmony. You can get a refurbished 880 at Buy.com right now (BF deal) for $73.95

He can get the Xbox specific Harmony from Amazon for less than that. I love mine.

Yeah, I always forget about the XBOX specific one. Although for a few dollars more I'd definitely recommend getting an 880 first (unless they have something against refurbished of course). The cheapest XBOX one I see at amazon (after shipping) is a $52 one (also refurbished).

But that's just my opinion. I don't really like the XBOX one...it's all square and uncomfortable and cheap looking IMO.

Get the Harmony. It's one of the best investments in A/V gear I've ever made. I've never had to look back on that decision.

I've got a Harmony 659 and an 880 and I agree they are great. This is just a spare room that has a Panny plasma and a 360 and I just wanted to use the Panny remote as I prefer it to the xbox remote and didn't want to buy another Harmony.
