First of all please bare with my complete noobiness with this whole HD thing. Me and my gf use a 32 inch Sharp Aquos (the 1080p one) in our room. Mainly play xbox 360 and watch blu rays on it with the PS3. I notice that it doesn't really look all that awesome especially in comparison to lets say when I go to Best Buy and see a blue ray on or their display xbox 360. I notice when I turn on my xbox or ps3 and change it to the needed input that little blue box in the top right corner just says 480p. Do I have to press something to make it 1080p? Shouldn't this be automatic? Am I missing something here? The PS3 I just have a HDMI cable hooked up and with the Xbox 360 I just use the component cables that come with it. Once again sorry for being such a noob but any help would be appreciated.

Yup i've tried the same source matarial and it doesn't look close at all. Plus like I said the blue box that pops up in the upper right hand corner of the TV when you choose your input it says 480p whenever I switch to my Xbox 360 input or my PS3 input.

Covering the obvious...have you set your PS3 and 360 to output 1080p?

Obviously I feel like a noob. I always assumed it was just automatic. I got my 360 to work just fine since the process was as simple as clicking on 1080p output and it was done but I`m having problems making my ps3 work though.
