As some of you may know, I've read everything I cna get my hands on in these forums/threads and love it... thanks all for the education... unfortunately that hasn't changed the fact that my skull is really thick... so I've got just a couple quck dumb questions for clarification...

1. When I calibrate brightness using the pluge pattern, there's a point at which I can't see the BTB bars from my viewing position, but if I get right up close to the screen I can see that it's being displayed... what's considered more "proper"... being just below the point where it can be seen from the viewing position, or just below the point where it can be detected up close to the screen? It might be trivial when watching from the standard position, but which is "technically" correct?

2. Although I don't have one now, I do plan to recal when I get a probe, at which point I'll need this clarification.... 10IRE is supposed to be .65% of 100IRE, but.... .65% of which number, is it the Y from xyY? Or is it the raw ftL number?
