I just got my Samsung T260 LCD primarily to hook up to my PS3 for gaming and movies.
I connected it through hdmi cables and it seems to be working, in PS3 menu I have configured it to 1080p and I dont know what else can be done. When Im in the PS3 menu the monitor is configured to the max resolution which i believe is 1900 x 1200, ( I may be wrong on exact but its roughly that) When I enter a game it reduces the resolution to something like 1200x728, and basically looks terrible like it would on a standard tv.
Maybe im doing something wrong, can anyone help me as I really dont want to return this monitor, but will have to if i cant get it to work.
Thanks

It has nothing to do with your TV. it is the game. Most games run at 720p (1280x720) which is what you are seeing. Even if it is in 720p, there is no way it should look like crap. 720p still is plenty sharp and detailed.

Hmm. ok, Ya i know many games are not 1080p quality as of yet, but the games seem to be running at standard tv setting. So i guess i was expecting HD quality and see the 420p or whatever is, and was very dissapointed. So I must of messed up the setting or something.
Also its technically not a TV but a Monitor, shouldve made that clear in previous post.

Make sure you enable both 720p AND 1080i/p. The PS3 doesn't have a built in scaler. Since many games are 720p native, if you only have 1080i/p checked, the PS3 will actually display 480i/p. The other problem may be your monitor's scaler. Try displaying a game in the native 1280x720 resolution. You will get black bars all around, but the picture should be very clear.

Um.. Ya i have all of the enabled. Hmm the monitor scaler im not sure how i can change the resolution once im in the game. It seems to do it on its own. I have tried playing around with some settings but to no avail. In PS3 menu it seems fine but in game its just terrible.

I myself have this issue. I popped in LittleBigPlanet and it looks like complete crap. The settings of the PS3 is set for 720p, 1080i and 1080p. On the monitor itself, it shows as 720p. I get the bars on the sides. Not only that, it looks bad. Played COD4 and COD5 and it shows 1080p, yet it looks terrible.
Might it be the monitor not scaling the PS3 right over HDMI? Would an HDMI>DVI converter be better?

This sounds like a scaler issue with your TV, not a PS3 issue. Since most PS3 games are native 720p (1280x720), your monitor is going to have to deal with that resolution. If you have black bars all around, it's most likely displaying it as native resolution.
Most monitors do not scale very well, which is why things might not look optimal.

Ya i dont know, i played around with the settings and got it to look much much better but still not ideal. Some games look good like NHL 09 and MSG4, but COD5 was fuzzy and almost pixelated at times. Lighting effects where pretty poor.
If anyone has this monitor and has gotten it to work fine can you please let us know the Settings you have and how you have it connected?

I have this monitor and have had great success.
I hooked it up through HDMI and everything looks great. Make sure you set the HDMI black levels to normal in the screen settings and the hdmi black levels in the ps3 to full
Also disable AV mode on the screen and have the image size set to auto.
I havent tried LBP yet but uncharted killzone 2 and resistance 2 and socom all look good.
If you sit very close to it like all screens you will see some imperfections but i sit a little farther away and its fine
