It can be a fun game. Its Mario kart on crack pretty much, minus power ups. The only disappointing thing is no local multiplayer.

What the hell were they thinking?

Anyways. Its a rough, gritty racer, with exciting crashes. If you like racing, then yes, its a fun game, but can be brutal.

I picked up a cheap copy from Gamestop too. Definitely a game that is worth $17.

It's a great game, but Pacific Rift is better in everyway way. The only reason to have the first is to play the maps, some which are great (Rock Hopper). But their is no split screen.

Really didn't care for Pacific Rift. Liked the more open tracks of the first game.

Personally, I think the first Motorstorm is absolutely fantastic. One of the 7 or 8 best PS3 games PERIOD.

Pacific Rift has more openness to the tracks compared to the first game.

But yeah, it is a great game to get nonetheless. Maps are nice and it's a great tutorial to play before moving on to Pacific Rift (which ramps up the difficulty ten fold).

Even without local co-op and without very many maps, the first Motorstorm is much better than the latest one (Pacific Rift).

Is it worth $18? Maybe. It's definitely worth a rental, but I know I wouldn't buy it for more than $10.

IMO yes, I plan on going back and driving the Rock Hopper track every once and awhile. I loved that track...
