Hey everybody,
I was getting a new TV for Christmas, as close to $400 as possible (I need to pay for whatever is left, and funds are tight), and after looking around and researching, I found I like the look, and especially the response time for games and sports as well as the better picture in non-HD channels, of plasma. With my limited budget I had decided on the 32" plasma from Vizio. It had gotten so-so reviews, but for 439, even as it was set up in the store with no calibration, it looked much better then my 19" CRT. Wal-Mart was out of them at the time, so I got a rain-check and figured I'd come back and get it later.
While I was there and best buy I didn't get a good look at the nicer brands, just noting they looked good, but didn't look at the settings or input locations, etc. But for only today Dell has the 32" LC32SB21U Sharp on sale for $479. I was wondering if this Sharp, being a much nicer brand and a TV that usually is an upper tier, would be a better choice considering the many non-HD channels I watch, as well as sports and games.
The price difference would also mean I would not be able to afford a graphics card for my computer, where my HD disk player is located, for a few more months. This means I would not be able to watch HD dvd's, as I'd have no way to connect to my computer, until I got the card.
