Hi all...

I'm having some trouble setting up WMP11 to stream my music through the 360.

I've been googeling but haven't found much help. Hoping you guys can give it a shot. It's the initial set-up...I can't seem to get the 360 to show up in the "Share Media to" box... I have Microsoft Service Pack 2, and downloaded WMP11. I connected my 360 to the router via ethernet cable and am using a wireless modem card on my PC.

I am on Xbox Live, no problem, it's connected to the internet.
I am on my PC internet, no problem.

I have comcast cable, forget the router, and forget the wireless card.
I believe my roommate set up WPA security...

I did read that you need to bypass part of your firewall if you are trying to do this, could this be the issue?

I can give more details when i get home if need be. I appreciate all the help, sorry for the ignorance.

you could maybe check your firewall settings if they are restricting communication between your pc and 360. i had trouble setting this up the other day as well. I have a laptop with access to my wireless network, but my 360 is wired to the network. I thought it could be the fact that one was wired and one was not. my 360 wouldnt show up on the share media list in wmp11. So after some time i got on my 360 and where the audio, video,picture, and then media center is, you press media center and then continue and it should give you some sort of code (i never had to use it) For some reason my 360 showed up after that on the wmp11 share list. it was like i engaged it but just pressing the a button a couple more times to advance the screens. hope that helps.
