Trying to get some input ( hopefully from an owner) of the above model. The useage will be 2 channel playback of CDs and playing of dvds outputting to a 720p Sony 42" LCD.

I got one on eBay for a lot less. I use it only for 2-ch playback of SACD and DVD-A as well as CD over analog. It works very well. It's sort of a very stripped down version of an Oppo 980. For less money you could buy a new Oppo 980.
