After contemplating buying a DV-48A for several weeks I decided to pull the trigger on one yesterday at the great price Vann's has on it. I already have a Toshiba HD-A30 HDDVD and a Sony DVP-S350 Blu-Ray player, so the Pioneer will be used soley as a DVD-A, SACD, and a CD player. I will not be getting a new receiver with HDMI until February, so until then I will be using my trusty Yamaha RX-V659 through the analog inputs. My first question is that since I believe the Yammy has bass management for the multichannel analog input, should I set the DV-48A bass management to send a full range signal to all the speakers and let the Yammy do the bass management? My other question is for those who own this player, how do CD's sound through the analog outs? I can't wait to get this thing up and running as I have not been able to listen to my collection of about 50 DVD-A and SACD discs for a few years since getting rid of my Pioneer Elite DV-45A. Thanks for any input on this.
