View Full Version : Video Stream Freezes after Pre-Roll

When trying to view some internet video streams (either via TVersity or in the PS3's own browser), the stream stops playing after what I understand to be a "pre-roll" video (e.g. a 5-10 sec. clip of ad or station ID) before the main content should start.

On my PC, the same streams play fine, but the PS3 stops playing the stream after the pre-roll.

Anyone else experiencing this? If so, is there a solution to get the stream to play past the pre-roll?

Example stream URL with TVersity (it's a music video stream): mms://194.116.83.15/70s

Example Flash-based player in PS3 browser: www.americafree.tv

Just an update...

I just updated the PS3 firmware to 2.53. This cures the pre-roll problem for flash-based streams in the PS3 browser, and also makes the video work for Hulu/CBS flash player streams (full screen SD is nice--I still can't play HD Hulu streams, but that may be due to my DSL connection).

However, the update does not appear to cure the pre-roll problem for streams that are coming through (transcoded) TVersity to the PS3 (still same stopping of video after the pre-roll).

?????????

Now I'm wondering if it's a TVersity problem. I may try a fresh install of TVersity again and see if I get any changes.
